Architecture Sarasota is pleased to announce its 10th annual Sarasota MOD Weekend, a three-day architecture festival celebrating the legacy and global impact of the Sarasota School of Architecture (a.k.a. Sarasota Modern) — the regional, mid-century modern architecture movement that has come to define the cultural landscape in and around the city of Sarasota, and which continues to influence architects and designers around the world. This year’s MOD Weekend will center around the centennial of renowned Sarasota School architect Victor Lundy, honoring him with an exhibition and symposium that jointly trace his life and legacy.
Tickets for individual events and experiences range in price from $30 to $225 for Architecture Sarasota members and from $40 to $250 for non-members. All proceeds from Sarasota MOD Weekend directly support Architecture Sarasota’s mission and work.

Siesta Key Crystal Classic International Sand Sculpting Festival

Siesta Key Crystal Classic – November 10-13, 2023 This four-day festival features twenty-four master sand sculptors competing for top prizes in solo and duo categories. Their masterpieces transform the always beautiful Siesta Beach into an amazing outdoor art gallery. And it’s more than just sand…the festival also features live music throughout the event along with a large variety of 80+ retail and food and drink vendors. Free filtered water stations are provided by Sarasota County. Official Crystal Classic merchandise will also be available. Other activities include the popular three-day “Quick Sand” competition, sand sculpting lessons, a children’s play area, an amateur sculpting competition and people’s choice voting. The festival will be open 10 am to 5 pm daily with extended hours Saturday night until 9 pm with the sculptures lit through a fabulous light display. In 2022 the festival welcomed over 30,000 attendees. The Siesta Key Crystal Classic is presented by the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce. Our mission is to promote tourism, local businesses and the visual arts via the production of one of the most unique sculpture festivals held in the world on the #1 beach in the U.S. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Siesta Key Crystal Classic Scholarship Fund for Ringling College of Art + Design.
